Henriques & Henriques itself is known for its impeccable quality, throughout the entire range. The key word here is: balance. This is expressed, for example, in the fine proportion of aromas in each wine: so not a wine with one dominant aroma and some minor roles, but rather a wine with a range of equally important flavours.

This balance can also be found in the proportions between sugar content and freshness. The sweetness must always be sufficiently counterbalanced. This is pre-eminently the case here, whether it concerns a 'dry' or a 'full rich' Madeira. In addition to drinking pleasure, it also makes the wine very drinkable.
This place is also unique in winemaking. The fact that the wines are fortified with alcohol at the desired sweetness level is found in more places. But (natural or unnatural) heating of this fortified wine, with a deliberate complete oxidation, is a different matter.

The result has been praised for centuries: amber-coloured, complex, intensely fragrant wines, always with refreshing citrus acidity, and indestructible into eternity.
