Karst, Slovenia: a rugged landscape with an underlying beauty. There's only a few centimeters of red sand beneath which lies a plateau of fossilized limestone. A unique set of vineyards that are located both a few kilometers from the Adriatic Sea and have the mountains at their back. Wind from two sides, poor soil, and a difficult landscape ensure that only intensely passionate winemakers like Marko settle here.

The wines are made from the local Malvazija and Vitovska, which, according to Marko, are also the only grape varieties that can thrive here.

Marko works as naturally as possible and harvests all his vineyards separately at ripeness over several months, no shortcuts, all for optimal results. The wines undergo a short skin contact and mature in large wooden foudres. Great wines with intense minerality and structure that have a long future ahead of them.
