Sydonios

France's first hand-blown glassware. A young and ambitious company that wants to grow quickly and is already considered by many major wineries and critics to be the new top glassware. It is used as the standard glassware for the Bordeaux en primeur tasting!

The factory in Lille opened in early 2023. What is striking about Sydonios is that one of their biggest investments is in their people; the average glassblower is 21 years old. It is a craft that is best practiced in the Czech Republic. Unfortunately, it is also a dying breed there, and it does not seem that a new generation will take over. The Sydonios glassblowers all come from technical schools and were sent to the Czech Republic for a year to do an internship. The glassblowing process is highly precise, and a glass can still be rejected at many stages.

The glasses are not categorized by grape variety but by the idea of expression, which they believe is a much better way to approach wine. At Karakter, we already enjoy tasting from this excellent glass, and now it's your turn.
