Collection: Raddeck Winery

Stefan Raddeck is a scion of a family with many generations of winemaking history and naturally fell into the profession; at seven, he helped with the harvest for the first time and has remained involved with the business ever since. At fourteen, however, he had to do an internship, and it couldn't be at the family business. He chose an internship in the banking world, which made him realize that winemaking was truly his favorite activity by far.

Stefan now runs an organic winery, located in Nierstein on the Rhine in Rheinhessen. From his modern facility, he has a breathtaking view over the town and the river. The famous 'Roter Hang' is also clearly visible from here; a series of vineyards with red volcanic rock as soil along the Rhine bank.

Mindful of the two-thousand-year history of viticulture in his town, Raddeck feels a great responsibility to treat the land as naturally and sustainably as possible. Healthy soils and a natural environment are, according to him, the only way to achieve excellent wines, so the choice for organic viticulture was quickly made.

This winery produces very precise and pure wines, even in the milder price segment. The wines beautifully represent the grape variety, and the region and vineyard are always clearly discernible. Important for Raddeck is, of course, Riesling, but he also has quite a bit of Silvaner, Spätburgunder, Huxelrebe, and others in his vineyards.
