Adegas Castro Brey, 2025

Albarino 'Sin Palabras' 2025

Albarino 'Sin Palabras' 2025

'Sin Palabras', or 'without words', is an uplifting wine from Rias Baixas. The wine has a straw-yellow color and vibrant aromas. Citrus and tropical fruit are interspersed with white flowers and fresh herbs. During the vinification process, this wine undergoes weekly battonage. This gives the wine extra structure and a soft mouthfeel.

Meer over Adegas Castro Brey

Castro Brey is a small family estate in Galicia, located on the Ulla River. This is also the northernmost appellation in Galicia for Albariño. It lies east of the famous Santiago de Compostela. The area is more inland than other Albariño regions, so the Atlantic Ocean's influence on the wine is less pronounced than its briny counterparts directly on the coast.

Castro Brey is the life's work of Ana and her brother Ramon. Their grandparents already cultivated Albariño grapes here, and under the inspired leadership of Anna and Ramon, their wines have gained a considerable reputation, especially for this unknown area! They don't want to boast too much, which is why they call their wine: Sin Palabras. This means: without words.

They produce only Albariño. Reportedly, the name Albariño comes from A da Rhino, from the Rhine. This would suggest it was Riesling brought by German monks on their pilgrimage to Compostela. Who knows! It could be.

The terroir consists mainly of granite and is highly ferrous. This ensures the wine's minerality and freshness.
