Chateau Couronneau, 2022

Bordeaux Supérieur 2022

Bordeaux Supérieur 2022

Classic example of a Merlot from its region of origin: the Bordeaux area. A full-bodied and powerful wine, full of dark fruit, herbs like bay leaf, and pleasant earthy notes. This type of wine calls for a good portion of (animal) protein. Fresh acidity provides balance, and the ample amount of tannin is remarkably smooth. A lot of Bordeaux in your glass.

Meer over Chateau Couronneau

Château Couronneau is located in the far east of the Bordeaux wine region, bordering Bergerac. The estate has existed since the 16th century and was even family property of the discoverer of Canada, Jacques Cartier.

Since 1997, Gregoire Piat has been at the helm. He immediately started working biodynamically, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. Nowadays, his wines have great precision and intensity, with remarkably elegant tannins.

Gregoire's wines also receive rave reviews in the press, which consistently praise their modest price.
