Michel Arnould is a small, distinctive family estate from Verzenay, Montagne de Reims. Arnould is a growing producer and cultivates all its own grapes. This, of course, differs from the Grand Maisons, which often buy in their grapes.
Also special about Arnould: all his vineyards in Verzenay have Grand Cru status. These are mainly planted with Pinot Noir, the grape that excels on these chalky soils.
The house style: good, pure Champagnes, very precisely vinified. Also noteworthy: excellent value for money.
