Domaine de Sulauze, 2024

Pig 2024

Pig 2024

"Tout est bon dans le Cochon!" the label reads. Everything is good for the pig, and this biodynamic wine is an example of that. All permitted red grape varieties are used. A rustic wine. Red berries and dark fruit are balanced by a hint of bitterness. Also expresses itself well when slightly chilled.

Meer over Domaine de Sulauze

In 2004, husband and wife Karina and Guillaume Lefèvre started Domaine de Sulauze on a beautiful old estate in Miramas, between Arles and Marseille. It covers about 500 hectares, of which only 30 hectares are dedicated to viticulture, alongside 20 hectares of wheat and grain and 5 hectares of olive trees. The rest is wilderness, with traces of previous inhabitants, from Romans to Carolingians, still visible here and there.

From day one, they have worked organically, and in a short time, they have expanded this approach to biodynamics. They feel obliged to use these methods so that this place is not unduly affected for future generations. This also includes a certain degree of self-sufficiency: they bake their own bread, brew beer, grow fruit and vegetables, and a small herd of livestock roams the estate.

In short, Sulauze represents a 'way of life' that is fully reflected in their wines.
