Due del Monte Quarin, 2018
Merlot DOC Collio 2018
Merlot DOC Collio 2018
Intense aromas of cherry preserves, blueberries and grass are complemented by a pleasant bouquet of strawberries and ripe fruit. The taste is dry, full and smooth with surprising finesse and elegance. Aged for two years in partly new and partly old barrels. Then left to rest in the cellar for another 6 months in the bottle.

Located in the northeast of Friuli Venezia Giulia, in the province of Gorizia, Collio is a small hilly area on the border with Slovenia that stretches between the Isonzo and Judrio rivers.
In the Collio terroir, a dynamic interplay takes place between man and nature, between climate and soil.
Due del Monte has 8 hectares of vineyards, 4 plots, near the town of Cormons which is the central point of the Collio. These vineyards are spread across the slopes of Mount Quarin. Due del Monte is the nickname for Miran and Salvador, two friends who decided in 2018 to buy a winery and 4 vineyards. 'The two from the mountain', so to speak.
Although not organically certified, they work entirely organically and sustainably: No chemicals, no pesticides. The two friends care for their grapes by empowering them organically. Together with the controlled use of wooden barrels, they manage to make their wines very powerful!
