Moscatel 'Xixarito'

Moscatel 'Xixarito'

Xixarito Moscatel is a naturally sweet wine from the D.O. Jerez-Xérès-Sherry, made from the Moscatel grape. The grapes undergo the traditional 'soleo' process, where they are sun-dried until they achieve an intense raisin-like concentration. After pressing, a must is produced with an exceptional sugar concentration and a certain degree of color. Partial alcoholic fermentation is halted by adding wine alcohol, followed by an exclusively oxidative aging of 15 years on average.

Meer over Bodegas Barón

Barón belongs to the oldest bodegas in the Jerez/Sherry wine region (dating back to 1631!) and can be found in the old heart of Sanlúcar de Barrameda. Very authentic wines from various soleras: the basic wines age for 3 to 5 years and are bottled as 'Micaela'. Wines from older soleras are called 'Xixarito' (e.g., the Manzanilla Pasada under this name is between 8 and 10 years old). When wine is drawn from the oldest and finest botas, 'Soluqua' appears on the label: these are precious treasures.

A very traditional company with antique solera systems, but the Rodríguez Carrasco family does not lose sight of the future. For example, significant investments are being made, an example of which is the recent acquisition of the 'Poedo' vineyard. This consists of beautiful 'Albariza' soils, extending into the Atlantic Ocean.

Also very much worth mentioning: the playful and cheerful way of labeling. This is also to emphasize the renewed elan of this ancient wine region.
