Kellerei Bozen (or Cantina Bolzano in Italian) is the quality cooperative of the eponymous city in South Tyrol and is a merger of two previous cooperatives: that of Gries from 1908 (especially famous for their Lagrein wines from clay soils along the Eisack (Isarco) river) and that of St. Magdalena, anno 1930 (specializing in Vernatsch wine (also known as Schiava)).
They produce a whole range of typical regional wines, from 'village' style to cuvées from a specific terroir.
Most of the Kellerei's wines are consumed regionally, which can be considered a great compliment to the quality delivered.
