Bodega Gómez Cruzado, 2019
Rioja 'Honorable' 2019
Rioja 'Honorable' 2019
'Field blend' from the oldest (50+ years) vineyards against the Cantabrian mountains. Primarily Tempranillo, but in the old vineyards you'll also find other indigenous grape varieties that disappear into this wine. Matured for 18 months in French oak barriques. A very complex wine with all kinds of dark fruit, prunes, licorice, mocha, and beautiful aromas from luxurious wood aging. The wine has a lively freshness and considerable length.

Goméz Cruzado, a boutique winery in Haro, Rioja Alta. A family business since 1886, now led by Juan. He was the winemaker for Telmo Rodriguez for over 25 years and joined Gomez Cruzado in 2022. A winemaker with an eye for tradition and, above all, a focus on the region's terroir for the respective grape variety. This ensures that the wines excel at every level; both the generic wines and the 'single vineyard' wines.
Gomez Cruzado is one of the oldest wineries in Rioja and is located in Haro, the capital of quality producers. Increasingly, GC is focusing on the vineyards and their associated terroir, and less on the years of aging in barrels. Exactly as it once was.
Traditionally, Goméz Cruzado is also renowned for its white Riojas. While many wineries consider making the blanco variant an extra, it is a true tradition here, and a significant portion of production (around 25%) is reserved for white wines.
