A name buzzing in the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation: Simon Ravaud and his brand-new Domaine des 3 Dames. Simon manages a winery with approximately 6.5 hectares in the village of Solutré, in the shadow of the famous Roche. He started in 2014, using plots belonging to three different ladies, hence the name. A little Mâcon-Solutré, Saint Véran, and especially Pouilly-Fuissé. Simon is an energetic guy, enthusiastic and full of life.
Seldom has a first visit to a winemaker inspired so much confidence. A tidy cellar, a selection of new and used barriques from France's best coopers. And someone with a very clear plan spoke convincingly. The wines did the rest.
