SAS Benoit Girardin, 2024

Santenay Blanc 'Les Champs Claude' 2024

Santenay Blanc 'Les Champs Claude' 2024

0.6 hectare vineyard. Located on clay soils. The wine ferments spontaneously in wooden barrels, followed by 17 months of aging in barriques.

Meer over SAS Benoit Girardin

Benoit, a young, up-and-coming winemaker, has been allocated a total of about 7 hectares of vineyards by his father. Unlike his father, who made only a few wines from many vineyards, Benoit is primarily focused on making specific single-vineyard wines. For example, he produces a Savigny-Les-Beaune (only 0.6 hectares), a Chassagne-Montrachet, a white and a red Santenay, and a Pommard. Everything is done with extreme care, purity, and refinement.

His domain is located in the village of Santenay. A striking biodynamic detail: Benoit always bottles his wines during a waning moon phase, as this is considered the best time in biodynamics for wines that still need to age.
